Malala Yousafzai lived in an area of Pakistan that was taken over by the Taliban. The Taliban forced girls to stop attending their schools, including Malala. So she fought for her right to have an education. Then on October 9th, 2012 the Taliban shot her, so she could no longer speak for girls’ education.
