Goldfish Book Review

Summary

Lou Brown was on her way to the Olympics, she was off to training camp with her best friend, she was a top swimmer. Until she wasn’t. After failing time trials Lou Brown is stuck in school, and 100% aware that she has no friends and no life aside from swimming.

With her best friend Hannah away at training camp, Lou is permanently gloomy. Then Lou sees a couple of popular boys a few years older than her by the pool. Soon enough, Lou is training the boys to play a sport that she invented and preparing for them to be on tv show Britain’s Hidden Talent. But can Lou really rise to the top again?

Review

Goldfish is an extremely entertaining realistic fiction novel. Lou’s voice has loads personality and all the characters feel like they’re real people. I loved how the story set so many obstacles in front of Lou and her team to make the story’s outcome more meaningful. I would recommend this book to readers who like a funny book with lots of personality or enjoy reading underdog stories.
